Positive Affirmations are statements that affirm a positive statement that can help transform and challenge negative self talk. These statements can be used to motivate you, help boost your self esteem and create calm in your day to day life.
It can become a habit to stay negative as we are hard wired for negativity which psychologists call our negative bias. Positive affirmations can help support you to think and feel more positively about yourself and make make positive changes to improve aspects of your life.
To get the most from the affirmations it is important that they reflect your own core personal values (Cohen & Sherman, 2014). If the statements do not resonate with you, I invite you to use them as inspiration and a starting point to create your own.
Statements are in the first person such as with "I AM" or "I BELIEVE" and said in the present tense which affirms that it is already so, in your present life NOW. Rather than saying I hope, or I wish.
The more you practise these statements and use them in your everyday lives, the more positive you will feel.
I invite you to print out your positive affirmation poster and place it somewhere you will see it everyday. The image is a reminder of your integral connection to nature, as you bring it into your home.
The more you see the positive affirmation, the more you can affirm it, the more you will believe these statements and it will become your reality.
